There are times when our attention is naturally drawn toward what needs fixing, changing, or figuring out. We can become surprisingly quick at moving past the good. We reach one milestone and immediately begin thinking about the next. We spend months working toward something and, when we finally reach it, barely give ourselves time to appreciate that we made it there. There is something to be said for occasionally allowing happiness to occupy the whole room.

The same is true of the people who make our lives richer. Love is found in grand gestures, but also in laughter across a table, familiar conversations, shared history, celebrations, quiet companionship, and knowing there are people with whom we can simply be ourselves. Make room for those connections this week. Enjoy the people you love while they are right there to be enjoyed.
